WED NOV 29 World AIDS Day Protest – We Are Dying (Still)

  • WHAT: Join ACT UP in this protest leading up to World AIDS Day! Currently 72 countries criminalize HIV. If we are to end the epidemic, we must push legislation to decriminalize the disease and stop stigma-inducing language. We’ll be highlighting cases in which people were incarcerated for being HIV+.

THUR NOV 30 Screening of the Documentary Nothing Without Us: The Women Who Will End AIDS

  • WHAT: Free film screening followed by panel discussion featuring director Harriet Hirshorn and others.
  • WHEN: Thurs, Nov 30 from 6:30-8:30PM
  • WHERE: Mount Sinai West Hospital 1000 10th Ave, 2nd Floor, Conference Room B

FRI DEC 1 World AIDS Day with Activists, Politicians and Community Leaders

  • WHAT: New York community leaders, activists, artists, elected officials, and medical providers will gather at Kings Theatre for the fourth annual World AIDS Day commemoration. Performances will include FogoAzul NYC, an all-female Brazilian drumline band. As in past years, the event is co-hosted by the End AIDS NY 2020 coalition (comprised of over 60 community-based organizations), the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and the NYS Department of Health.

  • WHERE: Kings Theater at 1027 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn

    I have aids now for 34 years i seen the beginning of this virus up to now i believe we need to focus more on the issue of being hiv with addiction cause do many or addicted to drugs and so many lives are at risk because of it ive been a aids activist for 30 years
